travel diary: portland.

I love traditions. Especially ones that involve good friends, delicious food and tax free shopping! Below are a few photos (via Instagram), of our long weekend spent in Portland.
^^Naturally our very first stop was Powell’s, aka, my happy place.

^^On our first night, we ate dinner at The Ox. We ate there last year for the first time, and it was so incredible we knew we’d be back. The restaurant doesn’t take reservations, but they have a spacious patio where you can wait comfortably over cocktails and appys. I highly recommend it!
^^Group selfie!
^^Ceiling shot inside the Ox. One day, I will be organized enough to bring my DSLR with me, but for now trust that the scattered bulb lights, peeping blue sky and greens made for a beautiful sight.
^^Birthday boy!

^^As we were walking around the city Sunday afternoon, we stumbled across Nob Hill (the loveliest of neighborhoods) and stopped for beers on the patio of The Huckleberry Pub, (which appears to be a reclaimed Victorian home).  It was such a beautiful area and I hope to spend more time in that part of the city the next time we visit.
^^On our second night, we ate dinner at Le Pigeon. I’m not sure any words will do the experience we had there justice. We opted for the tasting menu and wine pairing and the entire meal exceeded our wildest expectations. If I had to choose a favorite entree, it would be the Pork Chop. As for dessert, The Foie Gras Profiteroles is easily the most delicious anything, I’ve tasted in my life.

^^Oh and this? This is the result of too many beers.

Until next time Portland! We love you!
