I find the things that comforted me the most as a child are the very things that comfort me the most today.
Hearing my favorite song play unexpectedly, away from home. The soothing words of the wisest person I know. Reading a poem I cherished growing up, only to understand its message more than I ever have.
And then there are things you can’t hear or see. The quiet revelations that move your soul.
And regardless of size, each revelation is truth. I don’t know that there is anything more comforting than that.
