How was I not aware of another film, starring Brangelina, (written and directed by Jolie herself) coming out this fall?!!!
The official summary for ‘By the Sea’ reads: “The film follows an American writer named Roland (Pitt) and his wife, Vanessa (Jolie Pitt), who arrive in a tranquil and picturesque seaside resort in 1970s France, their marriage in apparent crisis. As they spend time with fellow travelers, including young newlyweds Lea (Laurent) and Francois (Poupaud), and the village locals Michel (Arestrup) and Patrice (Bohringer), the couple begins to come to terms with unresolved issues in their own lives.”
My love for Angelina has been well documented (love you too Brad!), but I can’t help but wonder if any film they do together will achieve the same success of their first film together. Here’s hoping it’s not Gigli, the second. I don’t think my heart could take that.

Shot from a doorless helicopter, photographer Gray Malin captures these wonderfully, artistic beach scenes. Can someone please zap me to any of the above places like, now?
Have any of you seen this terrific animated short? Dr. Brené Brown speaks about the difference between empathy and sympathy. It’s funny, thoughtful and beautiful and it will make you re-think the way you are connecting with others.
A peek into a 150 year old apartment in Brooklyn Heights, NY. Parlor floors, high ceilings, moldings and a beautiful fireplace adorn this beautifully preserved space. And their collection of vintage pieces are to die for! (My favorite is the re-purposed tv console).
Gia is a sweet one, let me tell you. And alert! She’s like a little lady, watching everything around her, taking it all in with those big eyes of hers. Just this week she’s started to give us real smiles and coos which means the real fun can now begin 🙂
I’m finding the transition this time around to be slightly easier than the last. It could be due to Gia’s calm temperament (or the fact that I’m much calmer this third time around) but nonetheless, we seem to be settling in quite nice around here. Luca is just smitten with her, giving her kisses all day long. Julian, who maybe wasn’t as welcoming at first (ha!), now loves to touch her, look up at us and smile his biggest smile. Of course, there are challenging times (like when they all cry at once!), but that doesn’t happen often. Not with three children under the age of four. Nope, not often at all 😉
Gia, my sweet baby girl, you’ve made the four of us so happy already. And this is just the beginning! I feel so lucky to call you and your brothers my own. I’m grateful to have had the chance to do this again, to bring another healthy, beautiful and loved child into this world. We love you Gia bug.
What Happened, Miss Simone?, a documentary of the legendary artist, Nina Simone, screens June 26th on Netflix. The film is said to encapsulate Simone’s incomparable, artistic talent as well as her troubled, personal life. As far as musical geniuses go, Nina Simone is top five for me. Her music, lyrics (and overall talent, in general) continue to inspire me every day. I cannot wait to see this. Will you be watching?
